Happy Feet III
Regional Mini-Mo
Conference Recap

Happy Feet is a fleeting, fleeing, memory!!!  What a great time we had a Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Buford, GA.  Despite a snow blizzard and the real threat of freezing rain, we had a great crowd from places as far away as Colorado, Missouri, Alabama, and Tennessee.  The prize for who came the furthest went to Beverly Wenger and Andrea Olsen of Yuma, CO.  The prize for largest group went to Sheila Crow and her group called SHOUT out of Hogansville First United Methodist in Hogansville, GA.  (What a GREAT group of kids!)  Our fabulous faculty of Dennis and Chick Durrett-Smith, Rebecca Geiger, and myself, put our best foot (feet) forward to come up with some dynamite choreography:  Jeff 'fashioned' a 'spirit-wear' fashion show on the runway of life to the song, "Just Wanna Say", by Israel Houghton; Dennis choreographed a wonderful piece to an instrumental song called "300 Violins" to Revelations 6 using large, multi-colored fabric pieces; Chick's version of Rachael Lampa's song, "Shaken" used a vehicle as the vehicle for interpretation!  She shaped a very creative automobile using some props and fabric and interpreted the piece from the perspective of the family of God being shaken on a bumpy (car) ride;  Rebecca added a bit of discipline to our crazy creativity by teaching a more lyrical style to songs like "All Consuming Fire", "Shake the Heavens", and "Solid as a Rock".   Our theme "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going on" and our verse from Hebrews 12:26-30 provided a perfect framework to shape the creative process for the weekend.  Thanks to Rollin Hills, Pastor Phil Weaver, Ann and all the folks who made the weekend so memorable!
Note to our 2010 conference attendees:  You were GREAT FUN and we loved having you with us this year.  We're looking for pictures  of the conference to link to our site.  Email your .jpg photos and we'll add them
