Jeanne Hiltibiltey: (F/30+) Strong and independent. She’s a paralegal assistant in a local law firm. Married to Ralph for 10 years. Her marriage is superficial and troubled although she has been committed to working through it.
Ralph Hiltibiltey: (M/30+) Temperamental and sometimes distant. He’s been slightly irresponsible in holding down a job. When he does achieve moderate success at work, he seems to self destruct by drinking too much and getting himself in trouble.
Commentator: (M/F, 20+) Non-descript; Sports play-by-play analyst.
Referee: (M/F, 20 +) Non-descript; very formal and official.
Setting: Ralph and Jeanne’s living room. Ralph is sitting on a couch (facing the audience) watching a football game. He is drinking a beer and eating some chips from a bag. A man dressed as a referee stands upstage of the scene. He is holding several red penalty flags. The Commentator is parked at a desk or podium stage right of the scene. He/She can also be sitting on a stool.
Props: Referee flags or colored kerchiefs; bag of chips, bottle of beer or mug;
